Women’s Alliance, Inc. was founded in 1966 when ten women – all friends and professionals in education and related fields – were invited to the home of Mrs. Carol Braddock to discuss ways to support their community. The meeting was prompted by a series of race riots happening in Cincinnati and around the country.
This small group of women knew they wanted to make a positive impact on young African American children and began meeting monthly to share ideas and plan ways to support them. Little by little they decided on a course: to expand the cultural, educational and financial horizons of Cincinnati’s underprivileged children and to help instill pride in their lives.
